A serious traffic accident occurred late on Wednesday followingnoon on the A10, the Tauern Autobahn in Pongau. The riding tunnel in the direction of Salzburg is closed. The result is extensive traffic jams.
According to the State Warning Center (LAWZ), the accident occurred at kilometer 50 of the Tauern motorway between Hüttau and the construction site nearwerfen in the direction of Salzburg: a trapped person was being rescued by the Altenmarkt and Eben fire departments, it was said. The traffic jam currently extends back to Flachau. The police asked people to form an emergency lane and to remain in the vehicle so that the tow trucks might get to the scene of the accident.
The Red Cross had previously reported that a truck had crashed into another truck near Pöham (Bischofshofen).
