Serious man after being stabbed and beaten with a bat in broad daylight on a street in Queens, New York

A man was hospitalized seriously injured following being hit with a bat and repeatedly stabbed on a Queens (NYC) street yesterday followingnoon.

The violent attack occurred in a space between two parked cars on 48th Street near 47th Avenue in the vecindario Sunnyside around 3:50 p.m. Friday, police officers and witnesses said.

“He tried to kill him,” he told Daily News regarding the attacker the Hispanic witness Abel Sevilla, 34 years old. “After beating him, he stabbed him at least three times in the body and once in the face… I was bleeding a lot.”

The unidentified injured man, believed to be in his 30s, suffered five stab wounds to the bodythe police said. Paramedics rushed him to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was listed in critical condition last night.

When he was attacked, he was accompanied by a woman. She “was screaming and crying,” Sevilla said. Police officers later removed the attacker from a nearby building, she added. NYPD confirmed that a woman and a man had been taken into custody, but no charges were reported once morest them. At the moment there were no further details regarding the attack or those involved.

In a similar case, at the end of February Michael Izquierdo was stabbed to death by his partner’s ex-boyfriend in the middle of an apparent argument over $20 dollars on a Queens street.
