A serious accident occurred this Saturday at the beginning of the followingnoon in Heers, in Limburg. A De Lijn bus ran off the road for reasons yet to be determined and ended its journey between the embankment and a light pole.
The impact with a tree was violent and the bus driver was ejected from his seat and found himself on the road. The emergency services, quickly on the spot, resuscitated the victim for more than 45 minutes. In critical condition, the driver was taken to hospital in Hasselt, explains Het Belang van Limburg.

Fortunately, there were no passengers on the bus.
The road has been closed to traffic as a tree crashed into the roadway and it will take several hours for it to be cleared.
