A car fell Thursday in the middle of the followingnoon on the road to Basse-Sambre (N90) following hitting the railing of the rue de Montigny bridge in Gilly (Charleroi, province of Hainaut), firefighters said. The driver was taken care of by the emergency services. His days are endangered.
The spectacular accident occurred Thursday in the middle of the followingnoon around 4:20 p.m. on the N90 near Gilly. A car, traveling rue de Montigny, fell on the road to Basse-Sambre. “For a reason that the investigation will have to determine, the car took off, hit the railing of the bridge overhanging the N90 before crashing down,” commented the Hainaut-East rescue zone. The Charleroi police zone said the circumstances of the accident were unclear, as was the number of vehicles involved.
The local police zone and the Carolos firefighters intervened at the scene of the accident. “Our men extricated a person who was taken care of by the emergency services. She was alive”, firefighters said. According to the police, the life of the driver is in danger. The road was closed to traffic in both directions. Motorists are forced to take the exit towards Gilly.
