A Blick reader stands at the Bernina Pass. “There’s nothing more to do here,” he says. The Graubünden cantonal police confirmed that a serious accident had occurred. This happened at a level crossing, which is why both train and road traffic stopped.
It is now clear: two motorbikes are involved in the accident, as the cantonal police say on Blick. Three people are involved. The police cannot yet say how badly they are injured and will provide information on Sunday morning. It is clear that the train was not involved, but cannot continue because the accident also blocked the level crossing.
The road is to be reopened to traffic at around 6:15 p.m. following hours of nothing working.
Until then, the police recommend avoiding the pass road for the time being. As alternative routes, she states that she would drive via Zernez and Livigno (Italy) or via the Ofen Pass.
The Bernina Pass connects the Engadin in the north with the Puschlav and the Italian Veltlin in the south. (of)
