This morning Sergio Zarzar announced his candidacy for the mayoral elections in Chillán, next October.

Together with leaders of the UDI, RN, Evópoli, the People’s Party and Republicans and parliamentarians, the former mayor announced his participation in the political contest, following assuming three terms in the municipality, between 2008 and 2021.

“In relation to the request that was made to me to run as a candidate for Mayor of Chillán, and in this the spontaneous movement that emerged in different sectors of the city was fundamental, of what the reaction meant in favor of this candidacy, of the social, neighborhood, sports, institutional leaders and also of the municipal family, in this I will always be grateful, following being more than 12 years as mayor of this beloved city, undoubtedly one turns the page, but this movement was so intense, it was so pleasant in the way it was expressed, that there was no other decision than to analyze what all these people and institutions actually wanted. Today I announce in this decision that I will be a candidate for mayor of Chillán,” he confirmed to Radio La Discusión.
