Sergio Perez “I haven’t considered a contract with Red Bull F1 for next season”[F1-Gate .com]

Sergio Perez has denied the view that he is already restless regarding signing a third-year F1 deal with Red Bull Racing in 2023.

Helmut Marko, Red Bull F1 Motorsport Advisor and managing driver contract last week, revealed that 2023 is the last chance of a contract between Pierre Guthrie and Red Bull.

“If this contract expires and we can’t offer him the opportunity to get promoted, we’ll probably lose him, and we don’t want it,” Helmut Marko said.

Pierre Guthrie, who was promoted to Red Bull Racing in 2019 but was demoted because he mightn’t get the results he expected, claims he deserves a second chance alongside Max Verstappen.

During such conversations, Max Verstappen’s current teammate Sergio Perez argued that he was focusing on the present, not the future.

“I’ve been in F1 for 12 years,” said 32-year-old Sergio Perez.

“I’m very focused this season and I’m not even thinking regarding it. It’s going to be in the end and it won’t be long in either direction, but I haven’t thought regarding it yet.”

Sergio Perez, who won pole position at the F1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, has a “very good relationship” with active world champion Max Verstappen in 2022 and claims to have performed well so far.

“We are more similar than people think,” said Sergio Perez.

“F1 isn’t everything. We live outside of sports, so we respect each other and have a good time together. I think this is also important for the team.”

Sergio Perez said he is looking forward to continuing the match between Red Bull and Ferrari throughout the 2022 season.

“It’s interesting to see another team fighting at the top, and it’s interesting to see how Ferrari keeps this pace.”

“The championship is very tough from the first race to the last race”
