16 years of serenade
This activity began to develop in 2008 when artists Chang and Morales were going through a difficult period at the beginning of their careers. Mario Chang would face his first international competition in Italy –which he won-, and in addition to that, together with María José they would take the step to create Querido Arte, a project that seeks to raise the artistic level and opera in Guatemalan children, youth and adults.
“Since then, we offer a concert for the Virgin as a thank you for the blessings received during each year. Sometimes we cannot be together due to professional commitments, but one of the two always keeps the promise,” Morales has shared on other occasions when commenting on the origins of this tradition.
