Seplat Energy PLC Completes ANOH Gas Plant Mechanical Works: Latest Updates and Future Plans

(Alliance News) – Seplat Energy PLC said on Tuesday it completed mechanical works at its ANOH gas plant on Friday.

The Nigeria-focused oil and gas producer said installation works for the southern Nigeria plant were completed without lost-time incidents and in line with its revised schedule.

The ANOH Gas Processing Company, a joint venture between Seplat and NNPC Gas Infrastructure Company Ltd, runs the plant’s operations, and will provide processing capacity of 300 million standard cubic feet per day of gas to customers.

Seplat said gas and liquefied petroleum gas from the plant will be sold domestically, while condensate will be destined for the international market.

Before the first gas can be obtained, Seplat said drilling and connecting upstream wells are required, as well as third-party managed infrastructure that connects the plant to the OB3 river of gas pipelines.

The plant’s final well has been completed, and the company is now waiting for the infrastructure to be completed before gas comes online, scheduled for the third quarter of 2024.

Roger Brown, CEO of Seplat, said: “ANOH is an important strategic project for Seplat, it will approximately double our gas production, and we are focused on the path to first gas.”

“ANOH gas will further reduce the carbon intensity of Seplat and Nigeria and increase the energy supplied to the Nigerian domestic market,” he continued.

Seplat shares were down 0.2% at 126.53 pence each in London on Wednesday morning.
