Seoul’s Plan to Display Consumer Safety Mark for Bed Bug-Free Lodging Facilities Online

2023-11-14 14:20:00

As citizen anxiety regarding bed bugs has recently increased, the city of Seoul is pushing for a plan to display the so-called ‘consumer safety mark’ online at lodging facilities that do not have bed bugs.

The city of Seoul announced that it has signed an agreement with Onda, a digital accommodation information company, and will begin displaying the safe mark starting this month, starting with T Map accommodation reservations.

We plan to start with approximately 2,000 lodging establishments in Seoul and later expand the service to domestic and international online travel agencies and portals.

Park Yu-mi, director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Citizen Health Bureau, said, “We will push for domestic and foreign tourists to be able to check and use bed bug-free accommodations when making lodging reservations.”
