Seoul Metropolitan Police Inspection Division investigates the response of police officers to the scene of ‘sports center murder’

In the process of handling the case in which a representative of a children’s sports center in Seoul stabbed an employee to death, the police began to verify whether the police officer’s response was appropriate.

The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s Inspection and Investigation Division investigated two police officers from the Mapo Police Station and four police officers from the Seodaemun Police Station who received a report at the time of the incident and were dispatched to the scene.

However, this investigation is not an official inspection, it is known as an investigation to understand the situation at the time and the police response.

Earlier, at around 9 am on the 31st of last month, a 119 report was received at a children’s sports center in Seoul saying “the employee in his 20s who was drinking with him was unconscious”, and an ambulance was dispatched, but the man had already died.

However, seven hours before this, at 2 a.m., the police received a report and came to the scene and saw the victim lying on the floor with their bottoms completely removed.

The center’s representative, a man in his 40s, was arrested on charges of stabbing and killing a male employee in his 20s several times with a 70-centimeter-long rod.
