Choo Seong-hoon will face off once morest Shinya Aoki (39, Japan) at the ‘One Championship 197’ to be held in Singapore on the 26th in a mixed martial arts lightweight division.

Choo Sung-hoon was scheduled to face former lightweight champion Edward Paula Yang (38, Philippines) at the ‘One Championship 163’ in April last year, but the match was canceled due to an injury. As soon as the new year came, Choo Seong-hoon, who was not able to participate, said, “I regret that I lost my hunger spirit. There is no time left. He publicly demanded that he quickly find a new opponent.”

In the One Championship, Seong-Hoon Choo and Aoki, who had been in a bad relationship since 2008, presented Daejin, and both sides reached an agreement.

Choo Seong-hoon, from Asia’s strongest judo, spent his splendid heyday when he was ranked in the top 10 in the middleweight world, including being the K-1 Hero’s Champion even following converting to mixed martial arts.

Aoki was ranked second in the world lightweight division from 2007 to 2010, and was known as the pride of Japanese mixed martial arts. The record of winning 16 matches in Japan since 2009 is still ongoing.

In 2008, Aoki demanded a confrontation with Choo Seong-hoon through the ‘Dream’, a mixed martial arts competition run by K-1 at the time. At that time, the match did not happen because Choo Sung-hoon was a middleweight fighter in two weight classes.

One Championship has held 195 events in 22 countries since 2011, including the first in Mongolia this year. In Korea, it is broadcast as IB Sports.
