People’s Strength presidential candidate Yoon Seok-yeol visited the burial place of a firefighter who died in a fire in a frozen warehouse in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do on the 6th and mourned, “We must understand the cause of the accident well so that such a tragic sacrifice does not happen once more.”
Candidate Yoon made the following statement following visiting the Cheil Funeral Home in Pyeongtaek, where the burial place was prepared at around 9:40 pm on the same day to commemorate the sacrifices of the deceased. On this day, People’s Power Representative Lee Jun-seok, floor leader Kim Ki-hyun, and general secretary Kwon Young-se were accompanied by the head of the fleet.
On that day, he visited the funeral homes of three firefighters and comforted the bereaved family. In the guestbook prepared at the mortuary, only three names were written without any special text. Candidate Yoon also held the hands of Choi Byung-il, head of the Gyeonggi Province Fire and Disaster Headquarters, and asked for a plan to prevent recurrence.
Candidate Yoon met with reporters following completing his condolences and said, “It is a very unfortunate accident, and as a citizen, I do not know what to say to the bereaved family. We need to make sure that such a tragic sacrifice does not happen,” he said.
On the other hand, candidate Yoon visited the funeral home in the IONIQ car driven by CEO Lee on the same day. The two have been in a ‘cliff’s end conflict’ since CEO Lee resigned from his position on the 21st of last month, but the conflict was closed with a dramatic reconciliation that day.
Chairman Lee made a surprise proposal on the same day, saying, “I know that candidate Yoon is going to Pyeongtaek right following the general assembly of the National Assembly, but as the representative of the People’s Power Party and as a person with a taxi driver’s license (driver’s license), can I have the candidate as a Alex Reed?” Candidate Yoon stood up and responded with a thumbs up.
