Sensor View, a company specializing in industrial cables, connectors, and antennas, announced on the 26th that it will begin supplying parts for semiconductor equipment to Doosan Tesna, a semiconductor test service and comprehensive solution company. The product supplied by Sensor View is an RF cable for non-memory semiconductor post-process testing. It is a key component for external connection between measurement equipment used in semiconductor measurement and the interface board. After delivering verification samples to Doosan Tesna in December last year, the company received a superior evaluation compared to existing foreign products as a result of a reliability test lasting regarding three months. Through this, the company replaced the existing German competitor’s product used by the customer, a company official said.
In the case of domestic RF cables for semiconductor equipment, the market has been 100% dependent on imports and is dominated by German and Swiss companies. However, due to the characteristics of overseas companies, such as long delivery schedules and low price competitiveness, the need for local production of RF cables is gradually expanding in the domestic semiconductor measurement market.
In September last year, Sensor View entered the memory semiconductor back-end process by replacing the imported RF cables used by Korea’s largest comprehensive semiconductor company with domestically produced ones. And this time, we are expanding our business portfolio in the semiconductor measurement market by supplying key connection components to the non-memory semiconductor back-end process.
A company official said, “In addition to the DC-18 GHz (gigahertz) RF cable approved this time, we are additionally discussing with our customers domestically produced replacement for 10 types of items.” He added, “Compared to overseas competitors, we have a relatively long lifespan, short delivery time, and competitive price. “It’s getting good reviews,” he explained.
Kim Byeong-nam, CEO of Sensor View, said, “It is very meaningful to increase the number of success stories of local replacement in the semiconductor measurement connection parts market worth tens of billions of won per year, which was dominated by European competitors.” He added, “In the future, artificial intelligence (AI), etc. “We will do our best to expand our products to increasingly sophisticated and high-speed applications, as well as to expand the application of localized products to large global potential markets such as Taiwan.”
