sensational debut for the Mégane E-Tech

Renault’s new electric compact easily took the lead in the rankings in July. The e-208 remains in the lead on the 2022 total.

Last week, during the presentation of its financial results for the first half, Renault welcomed the good start of the Megane electric. Confirmation with the figures for the French market for July: the compact is already taking the lead in sales of electric vehicles. 1,937 copies have been registered. The Renault thus distances the Peugeot e-208, of which 1,379 models have been sold. It must be recognized that the Mégane is in the full launch phase, Renault therefore had many orders to fulfill.

The Lionne is keeping in shape, since its sales have increased by 53% compared to July 2021. While those of the Zoe fell by 17%, with 953 deliveries. The former champion of the electric market was followed last month by the Fiat 500 (938 sales).

Then we find in 5th position the Peugeot e-2008, with 876 sales. Note that its German cousin, the Opel Mokka-e, took off in July, reaching 10th place in July with 310 registrations. Still at Stellantis, the Citroën ë-C4 is 9th, with 348 sales.

The Twingo resists the Spring

This does less well than the Hyundai Kona, which despite its advanced age was 7th with 711 sales once more. It is thus clearly better than the 143 Ioniq 5! And the Dacia Spring phenomenon? Last month, the low cost electric sold 661 copies, ranking 8th. It thus does less well than the Twingo, 8th with 818 sales.

Over the cumulative first 7 months, the Peugeot e-208 remains in the lead, with 11,091 sales. But for how long with the rise of the Mégane, launched in May? This is already 7th with 4,736 sales, even if there are copies for garages in the account.

The Spring is second, with 9,864 sales, just ahead of the Fiat 500, a great success with already 9,860 sales in 2022. The Zoé is in decline, with 9,078 registrations. Surprise: the good form of the electric Twingo, with 8,601 deliveries.

Note that we find in the Top 10 2022 the Tesla Model 3 and Model Y, in 6th and 9th place, with 7,808 and 4,011 sales.
