Sennheiser’s latest audiophile headphones are king of bass

The HD 660S2 expertly balances sound for a premium listening experience.

Sennheiser is quite famous for producing very high quality headphones. The brand offers a whole line of earphones dedicated to audiophiles – the HD 600 series. And the latest edition to the line ups the bass for an expertly balanced soundscape. And here is the HD 660S2.

What the latest Sennheiser lacks in catchy name, it more than makes up for in sound quality. It combines 42mm dynamic drivers with a 38mm diaphragm to deliver punchy sound from the HD 660S2. While the design looks somewhat familiar compared to the headset’s predecessor, Sennheiser has made some subtle but significant changes.

This headset can reach a minimum of 70Hz, compared to the 110Hz that the previous model might reach. The result ? You should expect deep, rich, and full bass from the headphones, which are perfect for an audiophile’s ear. Sennheiser’s latest releases also reach 300 ohm impedance, meaning you’ll be able to hook them up to a hi-fi adapter. And with an open back, these new headphones will deliver clearer sound with a more noticeable soundstage. Maybe you won’t wear it on the bus – unless you like fun looks, of course.

Want very high quality sound from audiophile headphones? This Sennheiser HD 660S2 is available for pre-order for €599 and will ship from February 21. It comes with two 1.8 meter cables with different adapters on the end and some extra adapters in the box. You can easily connect it to most hi-fi equipment.
