Sennheiser launches the third generation of its Momentum True Wireless headphones

The Momentum True Wireless are not new. The third generation of true wireless headphones from Sennheiser is distinguished externally by the arrival of fins which allow better support in the ears (three pairs of different sizes are delivered). On the other hand, the manufacturer does not improve the sealing and retains the IPX4 certification.

Inside, Sennheiser keeps 7mm transducers, but improves active noise reduction (ANC) by opting for an adaptive hybrid system, with a total of three microphones per earpiece. The manufacturer is also full of audio codecs, with the traditional AAC and SBC, but also aptX and aptX Adaptive. The latter dynamically adapts the audio bit rate and compression according to the quality of the Bluetooth signal, in order to offer the best sound quality. However, the mobile device must be compatible with this technology to benefit from it. Sennheiser promises multipoint for the Bluetooth 5.2 connection, but that will have to wait for a future firmware update.

The case is compatible with wireless charging

The stemless headphones charge in a case, which is very similar to that of the second generation. But Sennheiser now offers Qi-compatible wireless charging.

On the other hand, the Momentum True Wireless 3 do not evolve in endurance. Sennheiser advertises a maximum battery life of 7 hours, with a total of 28 hours taking into account the battery of the charging case.
