What a funny product these Conversation Clear Plus are! A hybrid concept halfway between hearing aids and true wireless headphones, they embed speech enhancement technology allowing people who have difficulty understanding conversations in noisy environments to understand what their interlocutor is saying. To do this, Sennheiser relies on the know-how of its parent company Sonova, a Swiss company specializing in the design and marketing of hearing solutions such as hearing aids or cochlear implants.
The headphones therefore integrate a Sonova chip in addition to Sennheiser sound processing technologies, which allows you to dynamically adjust the volume of background noise and thus focus on the voice of your interlocutors. Conversations would be clearer and more understandable for people with hearing impairments. These treatments would also apply during calls.
The Conversation Clear Plus have several listening modes in order to vary between active noise reduction and listening to surrounding sounds, thus offering the possibility of adjusting oneself, on the fly thanks to physical buttons present on the headphones, the level attenuation or amplification of surrounding noise. It is also possible to manage these parameters through a more visual interface within the dedicated companion app.
Intended to be worn for long periods, the Conversation Clear Plus would offer excellent feelings of comfort and are supplied with three pairs of silicone tips, in addition to three pairs of fins to ensure flawless support. The Conversation Clear Plus would be rather enduring: Sennheiser announces an autonomy of 9 hours per charge, without further precision. The case would provide two additional charges, for a total of 27 hours of use.
The Conversation Clear Plus are currently available for pre-order, and will ship from January 20. They are launched at a price of 849 €, a significant price, but which places them in the low range of hearing aids (1500 € on average). That being said, such prostheses are designed for medical use, offer unique comfort, are adapted to each user and have much greater autonomy than that offered by Sennheiser… even if they cannot be used to stream music. or make calls. In addition, in France, some hearing aids are reimbursed by Social Security, and therefore benefit from a remaining charge of 0 €. It remains to be seen if these Conversation Clear Plus will find their audience.
