Dakar, Nov 3 (APS) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senegalese Abroad, Ismaïla Madior Fall, is going to Yaoundé (Cameroon), Saturday and Sunday, to take part in the 44th session of the Ministerial Conference of the Francophonie (CMF), we learned from its services.
In a press release, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicates that the CMF “takes decisions in particular on political questions, cooperation of an administrative and financial nature”.
The same source underlines that ”this important annual statutory meeting brings together the ministers of Foreign Affairs or the ministers in charge of the Francophonie of the member countries of the OIF”.
The Yaoundé conference is under the theme: ”Good governance: guarantee of political, economic and cultural stability for French-speaking citizens”.
The minister, who is leading the Senegalese delegation to these meetings, will ”seize the opportunity to have in-depth discussions with his counterparts on issues of common interest and will defend the traditional positions of Senegal’s diplomacy oriented towards peace and stability international”, it is emphasized.
The press release announces that the conference will be marked by the presence of the Secretary General of the OIF, Louise Mushikiwabo, foreign ministers and representatives of the organization’s member states.
The meeting ”will also make it possible to examine ways of strengthening joint action aimed at establishing a more stable and prosperous French-speaking space”.
