In Senegal, the final results of the legislative elections fell on Thursday evening: the Constitutional Council confirmed the provisional results announced last week.
Only one appeal had been filed by one of the small coalitions which had not obtained a seat, it was rejected.
The presidential coalition Benno Bokk Yaakaar therefore comes first with 82 deputies, followed very closely by the opposition coalitions Yewwi Askan Wi and Wallu Senegal which together hold 80 parliamentary seats. None of the formations then obtains a majority. But the cards have been reshuffled since Pape Diop, one of the three deputies who was not part of either of the two main coalitions, joined the ruling camp, giving him an absolute majority.
