#Senegal : Seven million Senegalese will go to the polls on July 31, 2022 to elect for five years the 165 deputies of the National Assembly largely dominated by the presidential coalition.
Among the 7 million, 300,000 Senegalese living abroad are called upon to vote in this election. They are distributed in 750 polling stations in 350 polling places.
The electoral campaign will begin on Sunday July 10 and end on Friday 29 current. During this period, the candidates will try to convince the voters with the hope of obtaining their votes.
Eight lists of candidates will compete to occupy the 165 seats in the Hemicycle. These are the Bokk Gis Gis/Liggey coalition, the Naataange askan wi coalition, the Alternative coalition for a ruptured assembly, the Benno Bokk Yaakaar coalition (BBYmajority, ), the Buntu Bi coalition, the Servants coalition, the Great Wallu Senegal coalition and the Yewwi askan wi coalition (opposition).

It should be noted that the Ministry of the Interior and the Constitutional Council rejected the list of substitutes for proportional voting presented by the Benno Bokk Yaakaar (BBY) coalition and the list of proportional voting incumbents presented by the Yewwi askan wi (YAW) coalition. for non-compliance with certain provisions of the Electoral Code. This decision amounts to dismissing Ousmane Sonko and other opposition figures from the elections.
The President of the Republic, Macky Sall, published this week the decree fixing the distribution of airtime on public radio and television of the lists of candidates in the running. This decree, which also sets the terms of production, programming and broadcasting, sets the airtime at five (05) minutes per day and per list from Sunday July 10, 2022 (launch date of the electoral campaign) at zero time to Friday, July 29, 2022 at midnight.

The legislative elections, which constitute a new test for the presidential majority, come following the local elections organized on 23 January.
The National Assembly is the only chamber of parliament in Senegal. Its headquarters are in the capital, Dakar. In the periods when Parliament was bicameral (1999-2001, 2007-2012), it was the lower house.
