Senegal: FONGIP signs two agreements with UM-PAMECAS and Locafrique

The Priority Investment Guarantee Fund (FONGIP) signed two agreements on Friday, September 9 in Dakar, one with the Union of Partnership Mutuals for the Mobilization of Savings and Credit in Senegal (UM-PAMECAS) , and the other with Locafrique. These two agreements are part of the implementation of the “100,000 housing” construction program in the country.

The agreement concluded between Fongip, head of line for the operationalization of the “100,000 housing” project, and UM-PAMECAS, will make it possible to better operationalize window 3 relating to the support of Senegalese abroad. The second agreement signed between Fongip and Locafrique takes into account the four counters set up to better supervise and secure the various interventions under this program.

Stating the terms of the signing of these agreements, Thérèse Faye Diouf, General Manager of FONGIP, explained that “the agreement signed initially with Pamecas concerns window 3 of Senegalese abroad, with a quota of 50% and a default ceiling of 30% of the guarantee portfolio”. And to add, “secondly, the agreement with Locafrique, concerns Senegalese from outside and those from inside, in particular the counter for people with irregular incomes with a guarantee quota of 50%, the counter for employees with modest incomes with a guarantee quota of 35%, the window for Senegalese abroad with a quota of 50%, and that of members of housing cooperatives with quotas set according to the risk profile of each cooperative. habitat,” she said.
