Louga, July 2 (APS) – The Louga Academy will present 6,834 candidates for the baccalaureate, with 4,049 girls, or 58.61% of the total number of students, according to Ousmane Kane, the communications officer, who spoke to APS.

The general baccalaureate exam begins this Tuesday across Senegal.

“The Louga Academy will present 6,834 candidates for the baccalaureate, including 4,049 girls, representing 58.61% of the total,” stated the communications officer.

He informed APS that “the number of examination centers has remained unchanged compared to the 2023 session.”

The region has 27 centers, with 5 in Kébémer, 9 in Linguère, and 13 in Louga.

“Public candidates account for 5,756 (84.23%), while individual candidates comprise 1,073 (15.70%),” he specified.

He noted “a predominance of literary series with 5,928 candidates (86.74%), compared to 906 candidates for scientific series (13.26%)”.

Compared to last year, “the number of candidates for this session has increased by 237,” said the communications officer.
