Senegal and Italy sign two important financing agreements

The Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation, Doudou KA, and His Excellency, the Italian Ambassador to Senegal, Mr. Giovanni Umberto De Vito, signed two important partnership agreements. Which agreements agreements aim to consolidate “commitments to the “Project to Support the Territorialization of Professional Integration Policies for Young People and Women (PATIP-JF)” as well as the “Program to Improve Access and Quality of socio-educational Child Protection Services (PAQ-SPE)”. “Friday November 24 was marked by a significant step in bilateral relations between Italy and Senegal, with the signing of two financing agreements by the Minister of Economy, Planning and Cooperation, Doudou KA , and His Excellency, the Ambassador of Italy to Senegal, Mr. Giovanni Umberto De Vito. These agreements consolidate commitments to the “Project to Support the Territorialization of Professional Integration Policies for Young People and Women (PATIP-JF)” as well as the “Program to Improve Access and Quality of Social Services -educational Child Protection (PAQ-SPE)”.

The joint funding of seven million euros is divided between PATIP-JF, with an allocation of four million euros, and PAQ-SPE, benefiting from three million euros. These projects aim to “provide adequate responses to the needs of children, young people, women and girls” and to promote qualified employment, particularly among young people, by strengthening the autonomy of Senegalese local authorities.

Thanks to this initiative, the PATIP-JF will provide professional integration training for approximately 2,300 young people with disabilities, while the PAQ-SPE will work to improve the lives of more than 15,000 children, establishing essential reception and educational infrastructures.

Minister Doudou KA praised the “exemplarity and mutual and beneficial transparency of cooperation” between Italy and Senegal, noting its multidimensional character and its impact on several vital areas such as food sovereignty and professional training.
To conclude, he expressed his deep gratitude to His Excellency Mr. Giovanni Umberto De Vito, on behalf of President Macky Sall, the Government and the Senegalese people, for the years of service dedicated to the fruitful cooperation between the two nations, qualified years of “more than memorable”.
