Halfway through the operation to charm the electors, most of the 10 parties in the running have drawn up a satisfactory assessment of their deployment on the ground.
Win the seats in competition thanks to a promising campaign project. The political parties in the running are determined according to their means and strategies to achieve this objective. A week before the election of senators, the campaign has reached cruising speed even if it only targets municipal and regional councillors.
Door-to-door, restricted meetings and digital campaigning, the candidates or their representatives rely on various strategies to convince the electors. At the National Union for Democracy and Progress (UNDP), the first week of the campaign was devoted to individual meetings with municipal councilors and regional councillors. According to the Deputy Secretary General for Communication of this party, the feedback from the exchanges has been satisfactory so far. Hence the optimism Youmegne Manuel Papin Yannick for the March 12, 2023 ballot in the regions of Adamaoua, East, Far North and North where the party is in competition.
“In this home stretch, we remain in the same vein of raising awareness among electors on what is good for our country beyond our respective parties. The improvement of our democracy will necessarily go through a better functioning of our parliament. It is dependent on a new majority that the UNDP is responsible for leading to the Senate,” added the Secretary General to the Community of the said party, Maïdadi Saïdou.
PCRN “B2B” strategy
The Cameroonian Party for National Reconciliation (PCRN) wants to spread, especially in the Littoral region. Indeed, since the launch of the campaign on February 25, this political formation has been deployed on a daily basis to seduce the electors. Christian Ndjock Nkongo, National Secretary for Political Affairs has already drawn up a satisfactory assessment of the first week and hopes that the PCRN will win the 07 seats in competition in this region.
CPDM optimism
As we begin the last week of the campaign, the Democratic Rally of the Cameroonian People (RDPC) in the running in the ten regions says it is already ready to defeat its opponents. “We are going there with the firm conviction of winning back seats lost in the 2018 elections. We are going there with the humility of a political party at the service,” underlines Cécile Marie Epondo Fouda, vice-president of the Communication sub-committee national campaign of the CPDM.
After the campaign, the ballot boxes will give their verdict on the evening of March 12, 2023.
