The Senate of Colombia approved this Tuesday the 24th a resolution recognizing Edmundo González Urrutia as the “undisputed winner” of the last presidential elections, and urging the government of Gustavo Petro to publicly recognize his position as president-elect.

Given this, it is imperative that the Government of Colombia adopts a clear and firm position in favor of democracy, aligning itself with the countries that have already rejected the fraudulent results,” says part of the resolution, approved with 48 votes in favor and six in favor. against.

With this, they join a similar proposal approved by the House of Representatives on September 16 where recognition is also requested of González Urrutia, who is in Spain after being a victim of “coercion” as reported in recent days.
