Senate Authorizes Joint Military Exercises & Training with US Troops: What You Need to Know

This Wednesday, the Senate National Defense Commission authorized joint military exercises with US troops on the common border, as well as the training of Mexican soldiers in the United States.

The legislators endorsed the “Friendly Forces 2024” operation, which will take place from June 24 to 28 in Ciudad Juárez, as well as the “Joint Specialized Exercise 2024” from July 15 to August 3 at the National Training Center in Santa Gertrudis , in Chihuahua.

The commission did not offer more details of the exercises, which still must be approved in plenary.

Just on April 2, the Senate approved the entry of 11 US Army agents with weapons and ammunition to train the Mexican Armed Forces for two months, from April 8 to May 27, at the National Training Center of Saint Gertrude.
