Senamecf Educa preventive program begins in the Valera municipality

In its mission to promote education and prevention, the National Service of Forensic Medicine and Sciences, through the preventive program Senamecf Educa, is starting a series of activities in Valera with the main objective of raising awareness in the population, fostering values ​​and promoting comprehensive prevention in risk situations, with special emphasis on children and adolescents.

This was explained by Samantha Linares, who is in charge of this program in Trujillo, and Yohana Terán, an educator from the interdisciplinary team of the Judicial Circuit with jurisdiction over crimes of violence against women.

They added that this program essentially consists of giving talks and workshops in a preventive manner in schools, high schools and public and private institutions, guided by specialists from the forensic service, as part of the actions aimed at preventing violence, bullying, child abuse and the abuse of harmful substances in order to offer practical tools to deal with these situations.

They detailed that Senamecf Educa is made up at the Trujillo state level by seven topics, including: Child abuse, child sexual abuse, early pregnancy, gender violence, effects of drugs on the human body, animal abuse and the route of the corpse.

In relation to this last topic, the officials highlighted that this workshop aims to answer one of the questions of what to do when a family member dies, to make known the procedures to follow for their retirement.

Programming for Valera

They reported that The program has been running for two years in its ongoing work to raise citizen awareness and improve the quality of life, and in that sense, next Wednesday, August 21, there will be a workshop aimed at boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 10, called “Children are not touched” referring to child abuse and mistreatment, on the 28th of this month, the corresponding one will be given for Adolescents and Young People, between 11 and 17 years old, with the topic “Misuse of social networks, bullying, abuse and mistreatment in adolescents”. All of these workshops will be held in the session hall of the Valera Municipal Council, closing the cycle of this preventive program on September 4 with the training of public officials regarding domestic gender violence.
