The “French Silicon Valley” is growing. In the Grésivaudan valley (Isère), not far from the STMicroelectronics buildings, the French manufacturer Soitec officially opened a fourth factory last Thursday on its Bernin site.

After eighteen months of work and 380 million euros of investments (including 30% French and European aid), the brand new complex was inaugurated with great fanfare in the presence of the Minister Delegate in charge of Industry, Roland. Lescure, and European Commissioner Thierry Breton. The “father of the Chips Act” welcomed this new project helping to reduce the European Union’s dependence on Asia in the chip market.
