What specific traits and qualities does Ruud van der Leegte see in Sem Steijn that make him believe the player is ready for the challenges of playing for PSV?

Archyde News Exclusive Interview:

Archyde’s star sports journalist, Eva Jansen, has the pleasure to welcome a long-standing figure and authority in the world of Dutch football.

Eva jansen (EJ): Tonight,we are delighted to host Ruud Van der Leegte, renowned Dutch football consultant and former striker for PSV,with whom we will discuss Twente’s shining star,Sem Steijn.

Ruud Van der Leegte (RVL): Thank you for having me. It’s my pleasure to help discuss the beautiful game.

EJ: Now, Ruud, we’ve witnessed a remarkable progression of Sem Steijn’s game at Twente. Do you believe he is ready for PSV?

RVL:Sem Steijn,I must admit, has got potential written all over him. At Twente, he was able to learn his trade. The step-up to PSV comes with its fair share of responsibilities. But yeah, I honestly believe he’s got the toolset to prove himself at their level.

EJ: So, while Steijn has been incredible this season in twente and has piqued multiple interests, particularly that of PSV’s, some are skeptical as of his youth. Why the confidence, Ruud, and what, specifically, will Steijn add to PSV’s offence?

RVL: Let’s say he’s part of that very young generation now dominating the domestic stage. That says enough about how highly he must be regarded for PSV to already have him in their sights.

At Twente, he thrived in terms of goal conversions. He adds precision in the opposition’s box while still being instrumental in creating danger, which a top team in like PSV so badly needs from a striker today. He works his socks off defensively – no wonder so many managers dig that.

You may say Sem still has ‘a bit raw,’ but footballing-wise he’s pretty polished. More experience, bigger crowds, stronger competition, even failure, at times, those things will teach him the required craftsmanship.

He reminds me somehow of a Harry Kane,no joke. So yeah, despite some uncertainty due to age and game-time,at least in regards to the immediate,I expect a positive advancement at PSV next to Bergwijn and Gutierrez as steijn works in tandem creating threats.

Lastly, considering Steijn as a good lad, good family background. The right people surrounding him help as well during that formative phase.

EJ: as the transfer speculations continue between PSV and Twente, what final message would you share with thes young players embarking on journeys like Sem’s? RVL: Remain humble, as it never really ends as a striker in footballing circles. Each time you cross paths with bigger stages, a chance to rise above, even, you never really know you’ll make good.

Avoid the usual ‘big money, big attention’ distractions, and try instead to develop more as each step comes – on and, yes,in turn, take every prospect your abilities offer – until you outgrow. Then, your own growth should come naturally… because, simply put, young lad, when your time at Twente truly does come as at PSV comes too, know the world really is the one to discover.

We hope you thoroughly enjoyed this insights into the brilliant, young future that is ‘Sem Steijn’,and this look into potentially ‘PSV’s next rising star’. Watch this space; Sem Steijn and PSV; both names keep promising! Until then, Eva jansen signing out.
