A Apple today announced another expansion of Self Service Repaira program created to allow users to repair their devices on their own with the same equipment and parts used by certified technicians.
Em a press release released recentlythe Cupertino giant explained that the program now also supports iPhones 15 [Plus] e 15 Pro [Max]as well as the following Macs equipped with family chips M2: os 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Proo MacBook Air de 15″o Mac minio Mac Pro and the Mac Studio. In this way, it is now possible to use it to repair a total of 35 Apple devices.
The coverage of Self Service Repair was also expanded. Previously exclusive to just 9 countries, the program can now be enjoyed in 24 additional countries across Europe, including Croatia, Denmark, Greece, the Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland. With this change, the total number of countries covered by the program jumped to 33.
Another novelty is a new diagnostic tool, which comes to help users test the functioning and performance of device parts, in addition to identifying defective parts — just like an Apple Authorized Service Center. Initially only available in the United States, the company promised to launch it in Europe next year.
Created in response to the Right to Repair movement (Right to Repair), o Self Service Repair was launched in April 2022 and targets users with some knowledge regarding electronics repair. People without any experience in this area are still advised by Apple to look for an Apple Authorized Service Center to repair their devices.
