Selection processes for executives

Gestión spoke with Ignacio Brain, general manager of Page Group, who mentioned the differences between a selection process for an executive and a junior position. What differentiates them?

“These processes have variations, mainly due to the level of responsibilities that the executive role will assume, since they will have to lead teams, make strategic decisions regarding the direction of the organization, among other directive or management tasks,” he noted.

For this reason, he highlighted that the processes for executives require a more detailed validation in terms of experiences or skills: “It is expected that these profiles have a history in previous similar roles, which allows them to contribute a strategic and enriched perspective to the business.”

Assessment Interview: what does it consist of?

This type of selection process includes psycho-labor evaluations based on competencies, potential evaluations, DISC tests (behavioral self-assessments), among others; with the aim of ensuring that the ideal profile is in the correct position.

According to Brain, these types of tests are highly relevant and are demanded by organizations.

It is also evaluated that the executive has links to the organizational culture. The profiles can be adapted with the soft skills and appropriate techniques, but it is essential that the executive role understands and shares “the vision and values of the company, since, as a leader, you must represent it on behalf of the organization internally.” and external.”
