Just a day following the Red Wings lost a record 2-3 to title contenders Boston, Detroit retaliated with a 5-3 win. The 21-year-old Seider made it 2-0 with a strong solo run while being outnumbered and also recorded an assist.
The outsider dominated the Bruins for more than two thirds, who are the only team so far to have qualified for the play-offs and even led 4-0 at times. Boston fought to within a goal, but the Red Wings hit the empty goal once more shortly before the end and drove the win.
Most recently, Seider and the Red Wings had only one win in their last eight games, so playoff spots are still a long way off. The Seider team is currently only 13th in the Eastern Conference.
