Segway launches a high-performance electric scooter on the European market for less than 5,000 euros. The E300SE is distinguished by an interesting technical background and is equipped with the latest technologies.
Segway-Ninebot, best known and loved for its innovative electric scooters, has also been exploring the world of emission-free scooters for some time. The Chinese company is no stranger to nimble urban electric scooters. Segway introduces its low-cost equivalent 125 electric scooter.
Segway E300SE, a performance to watch
Segway-Ninebot presented in Barcelona, during the Mobile World Congress, its electric scooter of the L3e category, baptized E300SE. It is a scooter for “adults”, whose performance is comparable to that of a 125cc thermal scooter. It has interesting features aimed at the general public.
The new Segway e-scooter is powered by a motor with a power of 10 kW and a maximum torque of 200 Nm. Figures that allow the vehicle to reach a speed of 105 km/h and accelerate to 50 km/h in just 2.9 seconds.
Segway electric scooter: dtwo batteries ensure a range of 130 km
Even when it comes to range, this Segway 125cc electric scooter does not go unnoticed. Thanks to deux batteries lithium standard (4 kWh in total), the manufacturer guarantees that it can cover up to 130km with a single charge. In addition, it is possible to purchase a third power supply unit, which increases the autonomy by 50%.
The batteries are all located under the footrest. They are removable and have a recharge time of 3 to 5 hours. In terms of structure and safety, the E300SE meets all expectations:
- steel alloy frame,
- 12 inch wheels,
- dual disc brakes,
- adjustable rear suspension,
- ABS braking,
- and intelligent traction control.
The scooter also incorporates the regenerative braking and no less than five different driving modes, including an “assistance” mode that allows you to push the scooter up to 4 km/h.
State-of-the-art technology for less than 5,000 euros
This electric scooter is equipped with a special LED headlight capable of projecting a beam of light up to 70m away. It has a large 34-litre compartment under the bench seat, in which it is possible to store two jet helmets. There is also a USB charging socket, a storage compartment and a hook to carry personal belongings. The color display is “classic” in style.
Technologically, there is a connectivity system linked to the ubiquitous App system. The latter can be used from your smartphone. The application allows to track vehicle management data. But also to lock/unlock the contact remotely or to track it by GPS in the event of theft.
The Segway E300SE is expected to hit the European market as early as spring, although there is no official color and price information yet. Rumors speak of a cost slightly lower than 5,000 euros.
