The project to push young girls into the world of video games is the work of Technovation Montréal who created a whole new program – Gameable – aimed at demystifying the video game development process while developing video game design skills in young girls aged 13 and 17.

Designed in the form of workshops that took place every week at École NAD-UQAC, the program allowed young girls to acquire knowledge in all aspects of creating a video game, including ideation, animation, design, production planning and programming while deepening their understanding of the industry itself.

Inspired by the UN Sustainable Development Goal #13 – relative action once morest climate change – teams of two to five participants accompanied by a mentor presented a prototype game of one or two levels using the Unity development platform.
At the end of the program, young people will present what they have learned during a demonstration day with several schools and companies in the industry such as Electronic Arts, Affordance, Behavior, Ubisoft, NAD and LaSalle College.
