David Drayton, accompanied by his son Billy and their neighbor Norton, goes to the supermarket following a violent storm. They do not fail to notice that the city is invaded by a mysterious mist… Suddenly, a frightened man enters the supermarket and orders customers not to leave. Then it’s the turn of an employee to be taken into the back room, devoured by mysterious tentacles… Although David has warned Norton, the latter ignores his recommendations and ventures into the fog… During the night, the supermarket is attacked by mutant insects, chased by terrifying creatures. The panic grows among the survivors and the fanatic Mrs Carmody does not fail to preach the apocalypse and even manages to convince certain people of her “audience”… David, he remains incredulous in the same way as some others… but they find themselves increasingly isolated. Mrs. Carmody perseveres in her psychosis and now demands a human sacrifice.
