SedenaLeaks: General asked ‘not to accept excavations’ during search of the 43 in barracks

The Mexican Army coordinated to prevent excavations in military zones during visits by the parents of the 43 students of the Ayotzinapa Rural Normal School.

In a document found in the #SedenaLeaksobtained by the collective macawit is noted that Humberto Guillermo Aguilar, former head of the General Staff of Sedena, recommended to General Salvador Cienfuegos to remove the “room for prisoners with bars” from the military zones.

The official letter of January 24, 2015 indicates that the Army coordinated to deny any possibility that detainees by soldiers had been taken to the military zone.

The service is given in preparation for a visit that the parents of the students had scheduled to the 27th infantry battalion of Iguala, just a few months following the disappearance.

The general warns that the commanders must avoid falling into contradictions and avoid “accepting that detained civilians are concentrated in the barracks.”

The preparation was not only regarding declarations:

It is possible that there are still prison rooms with bars, if so, it is necessary to order that they be removed and removed from the barracks.

In two points of the official letter, the retired general calls for not accepting the removal of concrete slabs or excavations of the land: “arguing that they exist from previous years and that the land does not show signs of having been recently removed.”

The official letter reveals the preparations of the Army before one of the most constant demands of the parents, to verify the role of the armed forces in the crime, which remains unpunished eight years later.
