Security will be increased in the CHSLDs of Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean

Additional surveillance cameras will be installed in the 16 CHSLDs in Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean to increase security.

Health authorities will also set up a security operations center to be located at Alma Hospital.

In addition to supervising building security activities remotely, the center will also provide support to CHSLDs who will benefit from the addition of cameras.

Even if the CIUSSS du Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean does not specify the exact places where these new remotely operated cameras will be installed since the project is in preparation, the authorities affirm that the privacy of users will be respected.

The primary objective is to enhance the supervision of these establishments.

The CIUSSS du Saguenay – Lac-Saint-Jean currently operates 546 cameras in 29 of its buildings according to the call for tenders contained in the electronic system of the Government of Quebec.

The three new seniors’ homes, which are still not open, alone have 252, or almost half.
