The service company International SOS recently published an interactive map which lists the different risks according to the country.
Ukraine is the only country in Europe to present a high security risk. International SOS, a company specializing in health and safety risk management, has just published a carte interactive listing the various problems that can be encountered when traveling abroad.
So this year, the company relied on three factors. Medical risks, those related to safety and finally those impacting mental health. The different states were then marked with a different color, ranging from light green (insignificant security risk) to dark red (extreme security risk).
Regarding the security aspect, France is classified yellow (low security risk). According to International SOS, “Violent crime rates are low and racial, sectarian or political violence or civil unrest is rare. While terrorism is a threat, groups have limited operational capabilities and acts of terrorism are rare. Security and emergency services are efficient and the infrastructure is solid. Industrial actions and transportation disruptions are infrequent,” the associated caption read.
Almost all European countries remain at a low or even insignificant security risk, with the exception of Ukraine, displayed in dark red, which presents an “extreme security risk” due to the war between kyiv in Moscow.
Mental health warning for France
But if France can boast of being rather well noted on the security aspect, this is not the case for the “mental health” factor. On this side, the Hexagon is placed in bright red on this risk map.
This indication results from a summary of figures from the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation Global Burden of Diseasewhich uses epidemiological data and lists people with depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder or schizophrenia.
