Security situation: The Burkim-Bi Collective for Democratic Renewal supports the Transition

The Burkim-Bi Collective for Democratic Renewal (CBRD) hosted a press conference on Saturday March 25, 2023 at the Norbert Zongo National Press Center (CNP / NZ) in Ouagadougou to discuss the national situation.

Burkina Faso is facing an unprecedented security and humanitarian situation. It is following this observation that the Burkim-Bi Collective for Democratic Renewal (CBRD) invited on Saturday, March 25, the Media Men to give their reading of the situation and reaffirm their unwavering support for the transition.

The Collective’s spokesman, Gérard Tago, thus confided that through this meeting with the press, the collective intends to affirm its support for the Patriotic Movement for the Safeguarding of Restoration 2 (MPSR 2), and to all the soldiers engaged in the fight against terrorism.

“We are aware that security is a major issue for our country and that Burkinabè soldiers risk their lives every day to protect our Nation”, does he have.

He says he is convinced that the only way to defeat terrorism is to work together as a united society. He therefore declared that to achieve this unity, it is necessary to banish political differences and divergences to fight against this threat which endangers security, social cohesion and the future of the country.

Thus, Gérard Tago maintained that the contribution of the collective in the fight against terrorism is at the same time moral, economic and human. He then confided that the association has members who are volunteers for the Defense of the Fatherland (VDP) who work daily alongside the security forces to protect the country against terrorist attacks.

“We are aware that the fight against terrorism has a high economic cost for Burkina Faso. This is why we economically support Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), who have been forced to leave their homes due to terrorist attacks,” he continued.

The spokesperson for the Collectif Burkim-Bi then invited the people of Burkina Faso to support the Transition so that the actions it will carry out lead to a national refoundation. The president of the collective Idrissa Kaboré has meanwhile affirmed that it is imperative to support this Transition.

“The Transition is like a last card, and we no longer have the right to fail”, he let know.

Asked what actions the CBRD has already taken to support the Transition, its President Idrissa Kaboré specified “In our various platforms, we launched fundraisers in early March to help the Homeland Defense Volunteers (VDP) and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). We have already made a donation to the IDPs of Ouahigouya. We also have members who are VDPs and who work daily alongside the security forces to protect our country against terrorist attacks”.

Mr. Kaboré also appealed to all patriots to join the collective to defeat the terrorist hydra.

The journalists were interested in the status of this collective, is it an association or a political party? What is the specificity of this association? To respond to the first concern, Deputy Spokesperson Xavier Ilboudo added that the CBRD is a political association that wants to bring its vision to political governance.

As a reminder, the CBRD was created on April 8, 2022 to promote and defend the democratic values ​​of Burkina Faso. “We are committed to and demand a society where justice, freedom, and equality are respected where each citizen has the opportunity to realize their full potential”supported the president of the CBRB.
