Security requested training in legal and forensic medicine | Meeting at UNSa

The Minister of Security and Justice, Abel Cornejowas received last Tuesday by the rector of the National University of Salta, Victor Claros, and the academic cabinet in the house of high studies.

At the meeting, he internalized them on the axes of the Security and Justice Plan, and raised the urgent need to have forensic and legal doctors who develop this discipline in the province, given the shortage of specialized professionals.

Cornejo emphasized the importance of the meeting with University authorities in order to advance with the training of professionals in Legal and Forensic Medicine, which would be a fundamental contribution to society and particularly to the comprehensive work carried out by the Judiciary. , the Public Prosecutor’s Office, and the Ministry of Security and Justice.

In this regard, Claros stressed that the Universidas will take steps to carry out the corresponding certifications so that health professionals can access this specialization and contribute to the requirement of society.

While Carlos Portal, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, He added that, evaluating the feasibility, in principle a Diploma would be offered for the training of professionals in the short term and progress would be made with a Specialty in Forensic Medicine for the medium term.

Forensic doctors are assistants to justice, and the lack of professionals in the province specialized in the matter was decisive for the request of the Minister to the Rector, who also proposed advancing in university specializations such as Economic Crimes, Criminalistics and others that add to the improvement professional investigation and punishment of crimes.
