Security plays the decisive role in the digital transformation

According to the CyberArk study, 57 percent of IT decision-makers in Germany want to invest EU financial aid in security.

The EU is making more than 700 billion euros available to member states in the form of loans and financial aid to deal with the economic and social impact of the corona pandemic. Above all, measures in the areas of climate neutrality and digital change are to be funded. These are the main results of a study by CyberArk. For the study “Identity Security Threat LandscapeCyberArk examined the segments in which companies want to invest in digital transformation.

Businesses are responding to the rising security threats. They see great dangers in the unknown and unmanaged identities, which exist in ever increasing numbers. For 34 percent, the employees’ end devices – be it desktop PCs, notebooks or mobile devices – represent the greatest security risk. Ultimately, increasing digitization is leading to a higher number of interactions between people, applications and processes – and thus to more digital identities .

Companies do not see themselves sufficiently armed

The clear majority of those surveyed regarded the risk situation as critical. Almost two-thirds believe that they cannot reliably prevent hackers from accessing important company systems and data. And just as many hold out their own company once morest targeted attacks Phishing-E-mails for not being sufficiently armed.

The Zero Trust strategy plays a prominent role in the security measures that companies want to take. This primarily involves the use of identity security tools that identify and validate the user before connecting to the network. In addition, solutions for application and workload security are also a high priority. This affects all workloads associated with applications, digital processes or the use of public cloud resources.
