Security: Macron wants to “double the police on the ground by 2030”

The President of the Republic speaks on Monday on the subject of security. Emmanuel Macron began to speak at the end of the morning, in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes), where he presents his wishes to the police and the gendarmerie. He also gave details of the programming law on internal security, which would be put in place in the event of re-election.

The Head of State, not yet officially a presidential candidate, first recalled the actions carried out since his election in 2017, such as the fight once morest terrorism or the fight once morest drug trafficking. He also recalled that “on the territory, we have created, trained, deployed on 10,000 stations” of police and gendarmes. The president also announced his intention to “double the police on the ground by 2030”.

He then expressed the wish to “build our security for the twenty-first century”. In particular, he wants to continue to focus on the problems of terrorism and drugs, but also violence once morest women.

For him, however, the “path” to what he calls “the quiet life” is “long”. “I want to tell you of my determination to work for this quiet life to which our compatriots are entitled. We are not there; The road is long, but our duty and our vocation is to continue to tirelessly improve things ”. To support his point, he took the example of “small incivilities” which are not “small when you suffer them”.
