Two security guards are being accused of qualified homicide for the death of their colleague who in life went by the name of Cândido António da Silva, aged 42, in the Tanque Serra neighborhood, municipality of Belas, for having taken possession of money that, In principle, it should be divided between the three. The incident occurred one day following Christmas celebrations.
Two AKM-type firearm shots, one of which hit him unsuccessfully in the chest region and the other in the right upper limb, were enough for Cândido da Silva to die immediately. The case of qualified homicide that took place on December 26th of this year, around 4:00 am, in the Tanque Serra neighborhood, was carried out inside a construction site.
The case is included in the report of the last 24 hours presented yesterday by the Police in the province of Luanda, in the voice of chief inspector Euler Matari. Preliminary data shows that the deceased, Cândido António da Silva, security guard at the company Juro Noé, was on duty at the scene, in the company of two other colleagues. It is suspected that the victim had already been receiving death threats from his two colleagues, due to an amount he had received and which was supposed to be divided between the three, but which he ended up spending without reaching the others.
The two accused have already been arrested, but they express ignorance of the case, as they only declare that they heard shots from an AKM at their unfortunate colleague. According to the data presented in the public security summary for December 26th of this year, the Luanda Provincial Command of the National Police seized two AKM-type firearms and three machete-type bladed weapons. Among the firearms seized is one that was allegedly used in the homicide that killed Cândido.
On the same day, the Police carried out five micro-operations that allowed the clarification of 11 crimes, with emphasis on two qualified homicides, five robberies, three robberies in residences and on public roads, which resulted in the arrest of 13 citizens allegedly involved in crimes. The second homicide, according to Euler Matari, refers to a citizen, Eugénia Cristóvão, 28 years old, a domestic worker, who was beaten to death, inside a residence, by citizen Vitorino Domingos, 41 years old, already detained. The incident occurred at 1:30 am, on December 26, 2023, in the Zango III neighborhood, Rua do Tanque 6, for passionate reasons.
