The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division issued the following statement: “Within the framework of the continuous follow-up carried out by the Information Division to combat all types of crimes in various Lebanese regions, and following the Division obtained information regarding an unidentified person placing a taxi sign on his Nissan car, which Carrying a privacy plate, harassing girls who ride with him on the south-Beirut lane and carrying out immoral acts inside the car.
As a result of the follow-up, the division’s pieces were able to identify his name: M. p. (born in 1984, Lebanese) with a history of robbery and drug abuse. On 06/21/2022, and following a careful monitoring and control process, a force of the Division was able to arrest him in Deir Al-Zahrani locality, and seize his car used in sexual harassment operations.
By interrogating him, he confessed to what was attributed to him, and that he had more than once escorted girls into his car following deluding them that he was a taxi driver, harassing them, and performing indecent acts. The legal requirement was carried out once morest him and the competent reference was deposited on the basis of a judicial reference.
