Men at a business lunch and excitement on the net
45 percent of the speakers at the Munich Security Conference are women. At a business lunch, the rate is different – it causes a stir on Twitter.
A group of men at a business lunch: A photo of lunch on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference caused a stir on the internet. 30 heads of commercial companies dine together – and not a single woman is there.
The editor-in-chief of “The Pioneer”, Michael Bröcker, took the photo on Friday and shared it on Twitter on Saturday:
The SPD politician Sawsan Chebli states with resignation: “We still have a lot to do.”
Joe Kaeser, former CEO of Siemens, who can also be seen in the photo, praised the improvement:
According to the Munich Security Conference, the final quota of women among the speakers in the main program of this year’s conference is 45 percent. In the group of top managers represented at the conference, the relationship is obviously different.
Twitter users also criticized the fact that the men in the photo were sitting close together despite the corona pandemic. Kaeser made it clear: “There is a 2G+ and PCR test every morning BEFORE the meetings begin. Otherwise it would actually be irresponsible.”
