The shell of the new security center was pulled up under a huge construction crane next to the B42 federal road. In addition to the fire brigade, whose wing costs six million euros, the Red Cross will move into a new regional office in the catchment area of Haag, Strengberg and Haidershofen, for which the three municipalities will contribute 815,000 euros. The state of Lower Austria doubles the municipal contribution to the new building via needs allocations. “Due to the concept of a new rescue landscape throughout Lower Austria, our office in Haag would no longer have been planned,” says Haag’s Mayor Lukas Michlmayr (VP) regarding the whereregardings of the Red Cross district office thanks to the interaction with the neighboring communities. The fire brigade is also longing for the opening in autumn 2024 – the construction site is right on schedule. The new location enables even faster help on the western autobahn, where half of the 200 calls a year are already.
