U.K. stocks were higher following the close on Friday, as gains in the Autos & Parts, Industrial Transportation & Household Goods and Home Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com UK 100 was up 1.80%.
The best performers of the Investing.com UK 100 were NK Rosneft PAO DRC (LON:ROSNq), which rose 24.63% or 0.15 points to trade at 0.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Rolls-Royce Holdings Ltd (LON:RR) added 5.24% or 4.47 points to end at 89.79 and Samsung Electronics Co Ltd DRC (LON:0593xq) added 5.14% or 55.50 points to end at 1,135.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were British Telecom Group (LON:BT), which lost 7.65% or 14.55 points to trade at 175.65 at the close. Burberry (Burberry) (LON:BRBY) fell 3.76% or 62.00 points to end at 1,586.50; United Utilities Group PLC (LON:UU) fell 3.38% or 35.50 points to 1,016.00.
On the London Stock Exchange, 1,279 stocks rose, outnumbering those that closed lower by 530, while 448 stocks were little changed and unchanged.
Gold futures August options contract prices fell 0.11% or 1.85 points to $1,703.95. In the rest of the futures, the price of the August delivery WTI crude oil futures contract rose 2.81% (2.69 points) to be quoted at $98.47, while the September Brent crude oil futures contract in London rose 2.70% (2.68) to trade at $101.78.
GBP/USD remained unchanged by 0.34% at 1.19, while EUR/GBP was basically flat by 0.46% at 0.85.
U.S. dollar index futures were down 0.54% at 107.82.
