Section 144 enforced in Islamabad

In order to maintain law and order situation in Islamabad in general elections 2024, the administration has imposed Section 144.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Abdullah Mehmood has also issued notifications of Section 144, the notification stated that the purchase and sale of fireworks, collection and display of weapons will be banned in Islamabad. Section 144 has also been imposed on stone crushing by use.

Apart from this, Section 144 has also been imposed on meetings, processions and rallies on the Red Zone Kashmir Highway, Jinnah Avenue, illegal use of speakers and sound systems, communalism and speeches will also be banned.

According to the notification, section 144 will also come into force on the distribution of rough papers, posters, banners with Quranic verses, printing of holy words, wall chalking pamphlets.

It said that the use of sirens and LED lights on vehicles has also been banned, open sale of petrol has been banned across the city.

The notification states that a total ban has been imposed on any type of public gathering in the red zone, more than 5 people will not be able to gather on Third Avenue University Road, Atta Turk Avenue, Jinnah Avenue.

Moreover, more than 5 people will not be able to gather at Shahra Soharwardi Convention Center, Kashmir Highway.
