“She was short. We reaffirmed our position and our priorities. We find this series of meetings going on in Parliament at the moment somewhat strange and unproductive. Because what is needed right now is to save a procedure and for the parliament to start working”, Valchev explained to Nova TV.
“In the parliament, the work of the deputies is to see each other and talk to each other. We will accept a meeting with anyone with whom there is something to discuss. I am concerned that politicians are talking regarding a legislative program when the parliament is not working. It must be discussed in the committees when it must be brought to the floor. At the moment, these conversations are outside the rules,” Valchev also stated.
In his words, ITN would support a cabinet with precisely defined tasks and deadlines. “Ideally, this would be a government that would work on well-defined problems with well-defined deadlines. The responsibility of forming a cabinet does not rest on our shoulders. There are two mandates for which it is clear who should propose a government,” he added.
“The ideal option is this – people who will work on exact tasks with exact deadlines. The figures that will be offered will be a sign of whether they are looking for support or it will be encapsulated and not looking for broad support. If it comes to a conversation regarding a government, there will be meetings, which will be mandatory and serious”, emphasized the deputy.
“If it becomes clear that there is no way to have a cabinet with the participation of PP-DB, would you support Boyko Borisov’s cabinet, which includes DPS and BSP?” There is a suspicion that you may be playing the role of GERB’s crutch,” said host Mira Ivanova.
“This is excluded, because our parliamentary group of 11 people is not needed as a figure in any construction – be it as a crutch, a handle or something like that,” answered Valchev.
“The figures they propose will be a sign of whether the respective mandate holder is seeking support or betting on something more encapsulated, which will concentrate more power in one party and not seek broad support,” he added.
“GERD is like a system that has taken root in the state. Surely this should be removed. The principles that led this political force to become such a party that embodies the fusion of state power with business, with private interests, must be removed,” he added.
